Established in 1992  by a noble group comprising of  Shk Yasin Kasozi , Shk Late Jumba, Late Haj Lugolobi, Haj Wasswa Ssentamu  and Haj Gamba. Shuhadae Islamic SS has grown to even surprise its founders  the nay Sayers.

Located on the banks of River Rwizi  in Nyamitanga Village, Katete Mbarara City south division, this mixed day and boarding  boasts a learner population of 1221 students, 93%(1,164)  are boarders while 4.7%(57)  are day scholars. The girls are slightly more at 637 learners compared to 584 boys. Its fully licensed and registered by Ministry of education and Sports under the proprietorship of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.

The school pride its self  in a very able and qualified staff totaling 106. 23% of this population are Sheikhs, Theological Teachers who are responsible for churning out the graduate sheikhs & Sheikhats in this region and beyond including the guests of the moment.

Over the years the school has distinguished its self as a center of academic excellence, moral uprightness  and Da’awa propagation. It runs  a dual curriculum comprising of theology section i.e  Ibtddae, Idaad & Thanawi as well as secular section i.e Arts and Sciences (S1 to S6).

Apart from nurturing Sheikhs/ Theologians, the school has also produced Engineers, Doctors , Nurses, Lawyers, Teachers, Agriculturalists and other professions in various fields.
